Monetization Requirements

Each platform has its own set of requirements when it comes to monetizing your videos. Here you will find the minimum requirements need it to start making money from your views, advertisements, subscriptions, or gifts.

Stars

  • Stars are a virtual good that lets you earn money and interact with your followers. Meta pays 1 cent USD or more for every Star you receive.
  • Best For
    • 1. Creators with an active, loyal following
    • 2. Creators who consistently make original content
  • Eligibility
    • 1. Have 500 followers for 30 consecutive days
    • 2. Meet Community Standard and Partner Monetization Policies
    • 3. Live in an eligible country

    • In-stream ads

  • Short ads that you can include in your uploaded videos to earn money.
  • Best For
    • 1. Uploaded videos
    • 2. Content suitable for ads
  • Eligibility
    • 1. 5,000 Followers AND
    • 2. 60,000 total eligible minutes viewed in the last 60 days AND
    • 3. 5 active videos on your Page

    • In-stream ads for Live

  • Short ads that you can include in your Live or previously live videos to earn money.
  • Best For
    • 1. Live broadcasts or previously live videos
    • 2. Content suitable for ads
  • Eligibility
    • 1. 10,000 Followers AND
    • 2. 600,000 total eligible minutes viewed in the last 60 days, including at least 60,000 eligible live minutes viewed AND
    • 3. 5 active videos on your Page, including at least 3 previously live videos

    • Subscriptions

  • Create a subscription for your Page and earn a monthly income. Choose a monthly price, offer exclusive benefits and grow the community of people who subscribe to support you. Learn more about how Subscriptions can support your content
  • Best For
    • 1. Creators and brands with a large, active following
    • 2. Creators and brands with additional value to offer to subscribers
  • Eligibility
    • 1. 10,000 Followers OR
    • 2. 250 returning viewers AND
    • 3. 50,000 post engagements OR
    • 4. 180,000 minutes viewed
    • Facebook

    Path to Affiliate

  • 1. Streamed for more than 5 hours
  • 2. Have 75 or more followers

    • Verified Status

  • 1. Stream for 30 hours in the past 30 days
  • 2. Stream 12 unique days in the past 30 days
  • 3. A minimum average of 75 Live Concurrent Viewership in the past 30 days
  • 4. 300 Unique chatters in the past 30 days
  • 5. Minimum of 20 active subs in the past 30 days
  • Security qualifications required for Verification:
    • 1. Your account must have a confirmed phone number
    • 2. You must have 2FA enabled on your account
    • 3. No username changes in the past 30 days (@handle)
    • 4. Your account must have at least 3 on-channel VODs in the past 30 days
    • 5. No TOS violations in the past 30 days- See Kick TOS
    • Kick

    LIVE on TikTok

  • 1. Be 18 years of age or older to go LIVE.
  • 2. Be 18 years of age or older (or 19 in South Korea) to send or receive Gifts during a LIVE.
  • 3. Have 1,000 followers to go LIVE (may vary across regions).

    • Subscriptions

  • 1. Have LIVE access
  • 2. Go LIVE for at least 30 minutes in the last 28 days
  • 3. Have at least 1000 followers

    • Creativity Program Beta

  • 1. Have at least 10,000 followers
  • 2. Have at least 100,000 video viws in the last 30 days
  • 3. Be at least 18 years old

    • TikTok Shop Affiliate

  • 1. Meet Community Guidelines
  • 2. Have over 5,000 followers
  • 3. Be at least 18 years old

    • Creator Marketplace

  • 1. Be at least 18 years old
  • 2. Have 10,000 real followers or more
  • 3. Have posted 3 videos or more in the last 30 days
  • 4. Have 1,000 real video views or more in the last 30 days
  • 5. Make sure your content follows Community Guidelines and Branded Content Policy

    Become an Affiliate

  • 1. Reach 50 Followers
  • 2. Stream for 8 Hours
  • 3. Stream on 7 Different Days
  • 4. Reach an Average of 3 Viewers

    • Affiliate Program

  • 1. Stream for 25 hours
  • 2. Stream on 12 different days
  • 3. Average of 75 viewers (concurrent viewership excluding views from suggested, raids and embeds)
    • Twitch

    Partner Program

  • 1. Get 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months, or
  • 2. Get 1,000 subscribers with 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days.

    • Fan Funding

  • 1. Channel is in the YouTube Partner Program
  • 2. Be at least 18 years old
  • 3. Live in a country/region where the individual fan funding feature is available

    • Channel Memberships

  • 1. Meet the minimum requirements for fan funding features.
  • 2. You live in one of the available locations.
  • 3. Your channel is not set as made for kids and doesn’t have a significant number of videos set as made for kids.
  • 4. Your channel does not have a significant number of ineligible videos.
    • 1. Videos set as made for kids, or videos with music claims are considered ineligible.
  • 5. You (and your MCN) have accepted and are complying with our terms and policies (including the relevant Commerce Product Module).
  • 6. Some music channels may not be eligible for channel memberships. For example, music channels under SRAV contract are not eligible right now.
    • 1. If you have access, the Memberships tab will surface in the Earn section of YouTube Studio.

    • Super Chat & Super Stickers

  • 1. Meet the minimum requirements for fan funding features.
  • 2. You live in one of the available locations.
  • 3. You (and your MCN) have accepted and are complying with our terms and policies (including the relevant Commerce Product Module).
  • Requirements for individual videos
  • Super Chat and Super Stickers aren’t available on the following types of videos:
    • 1. Age-restricted
    • 2. Unlisted
    • 3. Private
    • 4. Made for kids
    • 5. With YouTube Giving fundraisers
  • Super Chat and Super Stickers are also not available when live chat or comments are turned off.

    • Super Thanks

  • Eligibility for channels
    • 1. Meet the minimum requirements for fan funding features.
    • 2. You (and your MCN) have accepted and are complying with our terms and policies (including the relevant Commerce Product Module).
    • 3. Channel isn’t set as Made for Kids and doesn’t have a significant number of videos set as made for kids or ineligible
    • 4. Some music channels may not be eligible for Super Thanks. For example, music channels under SRAV contract are not eligible right now.
      • 1. If you have access, the Memberships tab will surface in the Earn section of YouTube Studio.
  • Eligibility for individual long-form videos and Shorts
  • Super Thanks is not available for the following types of long-form videos and Shorts:
    • 1. Age-restricted
    • 2. Unlisted
    • 3. Private
    • 4. Made for kids
    • 5. Long-form videos or Shorts with Content ID claims
    • 6. Long-form videos or Shorts with YouTube Giving fundraisers
    • 7. Live streams or Premieres, while live (available on archived long-form videos afterwards)
    • 8. Long-form videos or Shorts with comments turned off
  • Super Chat and Super Stickers are also not available when live chat or comments are turned off.
